Day 94 of #100daysofnetworks
GraphRAG, OSINT, and What's Coming Next
Hello everyone! I’m going to write a free article today as I want to announce progress and updates! First of all, thank you to all paying subscribers for helping keep this series going. I really appreciate it. We’ve done a lot of neat things with this blog over the years, and I will keep this blog going for as long as I can.
If you are reading and learning along, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription. Paying subscribers get to read my more technical posts where I talk about things such as Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), AI Architecture and Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Warfare, and other more serious topics. I could really use the support. Please consider becoming a paying subscriber. It is like tipping a musician.
It’s pretty wild, looking back at the impact this graph stuff has made on my own life, and now I am getting the urge to teach. In fact, I gave OSINT training last week on “The Future of OSINT and AI”. That was fun and the students enjoyed it. It was really nice to meet them.
See, that was one of the slides.
I want to teach more. I want to meet people. I want to hear what they are thinking about, and I want to help them reach their goals. I’m always going to be a writer, but now I am going to start offering training courses. It’s time, and I’m so excited to do this.
The First Courses
I have decided that I am going to start with offering these two courses, but I have several more that I will be opening up very soon. Like, days soon, not weeks soon. I just need to get organized and ready. The first two courses offered will be:
OSINT for Everyone
GraphRAG from Scratch
I’m really excited to offer these courses, so let me write about them separately. I’ll use the journalistic questions to guide me as I provide information.
I am collecting my thoughts, but here is what I am thinking as of today, June 3, 2026.
OSINT for Everyone
Who is this for?
This is for EVERYONE. OSINT is treated like a mysterious subject, and I’ve written about it on this blog as Advanced Research Skills. I’m going to demystify this and make it relevant and useful to you! This training is suitable for anyone who is interested in learning what OSINT is and how it will be useful in their own lives.
What is this?
Learning OSINT will introduce you to valuable resources, skills, and techniques that will have a wide range of usefulness in your own life. OSINT leads to awareness that leads to getting ahead of dangers or opportunities. Yes, it gives you the best of both worlds. If you want to stay away from danger, use OSINT. If you want to capture opportunities before anyone else, use OSINT. If you want to automate the discovery of opportunities, automate OSINT.
I am going to democratize OSINT with this training, and I am going to price it low enough that anyone can afford to attend. This will not be $5000 training. It’ll be hundreds. Group discounts are definitely doable.
When will this happen?
I already have a curriculum ready. This will happen as soon as people are ready. I am getting the word out now, and we are taking signups. I will offer each class VERY soon. This will be a 2-3 day class, several hours per day. I am still working out these details. Please stand by.
Where will this happen?
This will be taught over Zoom. Attendees will get a meeting invite and then join.
Why is this being taught?
OSINT sounds intimidating, but many of its skills are simply extensions of curiosity: asking questions, finding sources, verifying information, and connecting dots. So, instead of thinking of this as a scary topic, let’s remember this quote by Ada Lovelace.
“Imagination is the Discovering Faculty, pre-eminently. It is that which penetrates into the unseen worlds around us, the worlds of Science. - Ada Lovelace”
I just love that quote. It is one of very few quotes that guide me. Ada is my guide.
Imagination is the Discovering Faculty, pre-eminently. It is that which penetrates into the unseen worlds around us, the worlds of Science. - Ada Lovelace
That is a lot closer to what OSINT feels like, to me. I use it to understand reality better, and I use it for all kinds of things. GrooveSeeker is Music OSINT. Verdant Eye is automated OSINT. OSINT gives me the tools to be as imaginative and creative as I want, and to learn as much as I want about anything.
People are not born with these skills, and they do not come from Software Engineering or Cybersecurity. I am bringing what I have learned from the Social Sciences, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and AI Engineering. My combined knowledge is why I do OSINT well, and OSINT is a part of why I do those things well. It is reciprocal, mutually reinforcing.
I want others to also be enhanced by OSINT abilities. This helps you “connect the dots” better. This helps you understand reality better, empirically. This takes away a lot of guesswork. This helps you learn about anything you want to learn about, at whatever depth you want to go.
I also want people to learn to use information beyond how the media reports it. My approaches show how to look at different versions of the same story as given by different sources and understand the story and the sources better. You will learn to spot manipulation, too.
How will this be taught?
I will give a series of lectures and I will use slides and other useful tools. I will provide resources to students as well.
If you are interested, send me an email at info@verdantintel.com or message me on Substack or LinkedIn and I will help get you enrolled!
GraphRAG from Scratch
Who is this for?
This is technical training in AI Engineering, covering both high-level concepts and low-level implementation details. You don’t have to know how to code to take this class, but you probably won’t find the information very useful if you do not have a way to code. Well, you could tell Claude what to do with what you have learned and he’ll help.
So, really, anyone who is interested in the topic can enroll, but this will probably be most useful to people who already have some experience in Software Engineering or AI Engineering. However, I use those terms loosely, and those who work in Data Operations, Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, or OSINT will be able to understand what I am explaining.
If you are not afraid of talking about data, code, security, or AI, then you will probably enjoy this course. If you are reading this blog, you are probably a good fit. :)
What is this?
There are many different ways to build AI interfaces, including RAG and GraphRAG. GraphRAG is useful for making performant and reliable AI interfaces. It is also very flexible. You can build custom GraphRAG to do whatever you have in mind, so long as you understand Graphs.
I have spent years explaining Graphs and Network Analysis, so we can have a lot of fun with this topic. I have also built my own GraphRAG interfaces and will demo them during the training, and we’ll discuss alternative approaches.

Why is this being taught?
Because I love this topic, and I love building reliable AI interfaces. I want to show others how to do it. People have been interested in me giving this training for over a year, and now I am deciding that it is time to do it. I am even planning to write a book about this, eventually.
If you are only able to use someone else’s GraphRAG implementation, you are limited. I will show you how to customize GraphRAG to teach AI Network Thinking, and we’ll also discuss Knowledge Graph design, optimization, testing, validation, and more.
I believe that people will find this topic enjoyable and fulfilling. It is immensely creative work, not dry engineering.
How will this be taught?
I will give a series of lectures and I will use slides and other useful tools. I will provide resources (code, data, etc.) to students as well.

Paying Subscriber Discount
I’m thinking that I will provide extra value for my paying subscribers, too. I have two Founding Subscribers, and I will offer them a double-digit % discount after I determine the price and what is realistic.
I have several paying subscribers, and I will also offer them a % discount after I determine the price and what is realistic.
Thanks again to my paying readers. I really appreciate all of the support.
Return Learner Discount
Someone recently mentioned to me that I should offer a Return Learner discount. If anyone enrolls in one of my courses and wants to attend it again, I’ll offer a steep discount the second time and after. You can take the class as many times as you like and take your time learning the material. I have done that before and I enjoyed learning that way.
That’s All for Today!
I have been so busy lately. I am going to have to do more writing soon to share news and cool pictures. For instance, my company Verdant Intelligence participated in its first small business event last weekend and I got to meet other local businesses! People are really enthusiastic about GrooveSeeker, which I built in front of you all last year! Thank you for hanging out with me while I was inventing that!
But I will do more writing about that later. I have also created a new OSINT blog, which I will say more about later. I have been using it to track Hantavirus and Ebola outbreaks, and to understand what is happening in the USA. More on that, soon, too.
That’s all for today! Thanks for reading! I hope to hang out with some of you in OSINT for Everyone and GraphRAG from Scratch courses. I’ll have enrollment links soon!
A new OSINT article will be written for this blog very soon. For those who would like to learn to do programmatic OSINT on this blog, please upgrade to a paid subscription. I will have a new technical article out, soon. I will also be writing about invention, and productization of ideas. A lot of cool stuff incoming.
I asked ChatGPT to make the friendliest looking OSINT image ever. Yup, this’ll do.
Open Source: What is out there
Intelligence: Learning actionable insights
It doesn’t need to be some dark and edgy topic. It is really learning more about the world in order to stay safe and to capture opportunities. Let’s go with this image. I like it.
OSINT isn't spooky. It is curiosity plus evidence.
Imagination is the Discovering Faculty, pre-eminently. It is that which penetrates into the unseen worlds around us, the worlds of Science. - Ada Lovelace
Here’s my favorite quote, one more time. Have a great day! Thanks for reading!

Thank you David 🤝! Excited to continue supporting your work, leaning deeper into OSINT and learning more, expanding beyond simiplified Data Engineering =] .
