Day 85 of #100daysofnetworks
Pivot to Paid Articles: OSINT Investigations, AI Engineering, Cybersecurity and More!
Hello everyone!
Today is a big day. I made an announcement last night on LinkedIn that today will be the last free article that I write for a while. After today, I am going to dive into more advanced topics, and I will not be prioritizing beginner material. I did that for the last year, and I posted many articles for you all to read.
This is my last free article for the foreseeable future.
That last year has been bleak for my family and I. My second business was paused, so I had to get a job. I got a job and then lost it after a month. I created a company, but it takes a lot of work to make a company profitable. My company is doing well, but I need to pay mortgage and my family needs to eat food. I cannot afford to give away my time and energy for free anymore.
I simply cannot just keep giving away things for free. I have given away so much already. I will be in a very bad situation if I do not make money to pay for mortgage and food.
Today, I am pivoting. I will be returning to this series’ OSINT roots. The very first articles of this series in 2020 were OSINT. I come from Cybersecurity, OSINT, Data Operations, and pre-LLM AI Engineering. This blog is going to get more technical, not less.
I will be writing paid articles from now on. New articles will be paid articles.
I will go through all of my other 84 articles and set aside a dozen or so free articles that explain fundamentals, so that there is still a free way to learn from me.
But any new writing that I do will be paid articles, as this is valuable information and I am very experienced. I have been a software engineer for 40 years, I have been CISSP certified for 20 years, and I have built world AI for a dollar a day. If you want to follow crowds, I am not the crowd. If you want signal in the noise, that is my lane.
Support Me as a Writer
If you would like to continue reading my articles and learning from me, please upgrade to a paid subscription. Otherwise, you will be limited to old free articles. If you want to continue to learn from me, you should upgrade to a paid subscription.
I will leave the price at $8/month for this weekend, to give you an opportunity to support this blog at the current price.
This blog is priced too low for the technical level that I write at. we are going to do serious OSINT, Knowledge Graph, and AI Engineering work from now on, and I not going to hold myself back and keep writing beginner articles. We’re going back to next-level OSINT, not vanilla anything. The new price will be $20/month, and I will set it to that after this weekend. You can have until Monday. I’ll set the new price, then.
If you want to continue learning from me, please click that button and upgrade to a paid subscription.
I expect that I will lose some subscribers, but if I lose subscribers because I have to feed my family and pay mortgage, then so be it. I am not doing this to “make more money.” I am doing this because I need money to survive. Please upgrade your subscription to continue learning from me. I’m not going to lose my house writing free articles. I have been writing this free series for years. I need real support, now.
About four hours of research and development work goes into every article that I write. A lot of thought has gone into this one. I was up until 4am thinking about this.
World AI → GrooveSeeker Newspaper
In the last articles that I wrote, I:
Demonstrated that my World AI was built
Demonstrated that the APIs could be used to quickly do OSINT work
Created a Discord community and invited you all to join me on it
And then since then, some great ideas were really successful and made me too busy to even talk about it. So, let me give you some updates.
Using my World AI APIs, we quickly created a GrooveSeeker newspaper, and we print them every two weeks and distribute them all over Portland, Oregon. Because I am an OSINT pro, it is dense with event information. I have taken these to record stores, music shops, coffee shops, community spaces, farmers markets, and many places. Some days, I have been on the train for three hours and walking for hours. These papers have made me very busy.
But they have been met with so much enthusiasm and love. I even met the mayor this week at a Grand Opening for a venue that we featured in my paper.
That is my paper in the mayor’s hand. We were at a Ribbon Cutting event for a new restaurant that I promoted in my paper. I am having real local impact in my community, and my community loves GrooveSeeker and my paper. If you want to build impactful things, you should learn from me.
We are working on getting these papers OR our local event intelligence data included in every newspaper and music/art related magazine in the USA, and then the world after that. We are talking to businesses about sponsorship. If you want to be seen by YOUR local community, we get you seen. My World AI is not Oregon AI, it is World AI.
Musical Performances
My World AI has also opened up opportunities for me to perform at places. I have been finding out about Open Mic events while going around the city, and I have mapped out several. As a result, I have performed at five separate events since the last article.
Yep, that’s right. I have played at five events and haven’t had time to write articles. Since I have been playing guitar for 32 years, I am even better at guitar than I am at this stuff.
Here is a video of me performing at a local Open Mic event.
So, I have been meeting well-connected musicians, people connected with Metallica, Credence Clearwater Revival, Mother Mother, as well as people in local bands. I am a serious musician, so when I play, people are often impressed and want to talk to me, and musicians are often connected to other musicians. Networks. :)
I have posted my performances on the GrooveSeeker Discord server. If you would like to hang out with me, please join the community. It is very cool and very useful, as I push event information to it. It is not just a chat server. It is an information hub.
GrooveSeeker YouTube Channel
Since I am performing more, I decided to create a GrooveSeeker YouTube Channel. Check it out.
If you want to continue to learn things from me for free, that is the place to do it. I give free guitar lessons/talks. I call them Guitar Signals, as I spent time explaining various things, such as:
How to choose your first guitar
How to learn the guitar effectively
How to learn to play a song by ear
What the difference is between musical scales
What the difference is between notes, chords, and scales, and when each is used
and much more…
This has turned into a really cool outlet for me. I’ve always shied away from video, but it turns out I really like talking about guitar. Here are some videos to enjoy.
I give and I give and I give and I give. This blog will become a paid blog, as it takes a lot of work to create every article. It takes about four hours of R&D for each article, and I have written more than 80 as well as a 400+ page book, and did more than 100 days on the first series.
But my guitar stuff is free. So, if you want to learn from me for free:
Hang out with me on GrooveSeeker’s Discord and ask questions
Hang out with me on GraphGeeks’ Discord and ask questions
Ask me questions on social media
I am a very friendly guy. I frequently give advice on GraphGeeks. I am happy to answer questions.
What’s Next
This is going to become a serious and advanced OSINT series from here on out. That means that we are going to talk about some very cool things, such as:
OSINT
What is it? Where does data come from? Who needs these kinds of insights? Who pays for this? What companies operate in this space? What is the difference between OSINT and Cybersecurity? How is OSINT skill useful in Data Operations, Cybersecurity, and AI Engineering? How is OSINT skill useful in Marketing?
Network Analysis
Everything that I have been writing about, but using real-world data instead of Alice in Wonderland and literature networks.
Natural Language Processing
Everything that I have been writing about, but using real-world data instead of Alice in Wonderland and literature networks.
AI Engineering
I do not build like others. My world AI costs me about a dollar per day. It is light and lean because I think differently and because I figured things out pre-LLM. I will teach SOME of what I know, but I will not give away my competitive advantage for dozens of dollars a month. If you are looking for more of the same stuff about AI Engineering… I don’t follow crowds. I predate the crowds.
I will explain Knowledge Graph construction from beginning to end. Then we will focus on using them, writing queries, pulling insights, and doing stuff with the data.
I will explain agentic stuff the way I think about it. If you want to build light and lean, you should learn from me. If you want to BE THE GOLDRUSH, you should learn from others.
Cybersecurity
I want to map out scams, fraud, and hoaxes. I also want to map out information warfare and influence operations. Let’s go! I know what data to use. It is time to have fun and get back to my more serious roots.
It has been very difficult for me writing for two audiences, lately. Some readers are beginners or earlier, and some of you have your own GraphRAG implementations. It is impossible for me to continue writing for both audiences, so I am going back to advanced. I have written enough beginner stuff, and I will keep that available for free.
That is All for Today
I have a million more things to say and talk about. I have new stickers, new hoodies, new hats, new keychains, new friends, new new new new new new new. The GrooveSeeker papers and my musical performances have opened up a million doors and I am very busy and will have a lot more exciting stuff to share, always.
This series is nowhere near done. I am focusing. Please support me as an author. Please upgrade to a paid subscription if you would like to continue learning from me.
I simply have bills to pay and must put my energy into things that will support that. Paying readers support me, and so do people who join my Discord and other things that I’ve asked. There will be a “Free Articles” tab on the website soon, and I’ll keep that updated so that there will always be opportunity to learn from me for free.
Thank you for supporting my writing and experience.
Here we go. OSINT mode activated. We are going to do very serious investigations now, and you will learn how. $20/month is a lot less than my trainings would cost.
Happy Friday. Have a great weekend!
Teaser image of our future work. This is OSINT data. It looks pretty, but it is related to serious stuff. Grabbed this screenshot while looking at diseases and viruses this week.
Please upgrade to a paid subscription to continue learning from me. The price is going UP on Monday, so this is your last opportunity to get it for $8 per month.
